According to one version, the park got its name from the Latin "dormio" (to sleep). The legend that supports this version speaks of Roman legionnaires who once ended up in these parts and were very afraid of the local mountains. And so that the mountains slept peacefully, and the legionnaires themselves could freely pass them, they offered prayers with requests to their gods. According to another version, the name came from the Celtic "dru-mi-tor" (translated as "water from the mountains").
