Photo and descriptionThe Church of All Saints (also called All Saints) was founded in 1807. Admiral I. I. de Traversay, Chief Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, petitioned for this. The consecration of the church took place a year later. Funds for its construction were collected by the "lower ranks" of the Black Sea Department, admiralty servants, city merchants, petty bourgeois and commoners. The church is a one-story building made of stone, cruciform in plan. A bell tower is located above its entrance. The temple can accommodate up to 500 people. In the crypt of the church is the burial place of M. Faleev, the town planner and founder of the Nikolaev shipyard. At the Old Cemetery, not far from the church, there is the crypt of V. Karazin, the founder of Kharkov University. In 1858, thanks to the merchant K. Sobolev, the nobleman I. Bartenev and the Chief Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral N. Arkas, the temple was expanded and rebuilt. The territory of the church was surrounded by a cast-iron fence, and a chapel was built near it, which had a deep basement, which served as a morgue. The Church of All Saints is the only church in the city that did not close even after the establishment of Soviet power in Ukraine.
