Photo and description

House-Museum of I.P. Morozov was opened in Syktyvkar on September 30, 2004, on the day of the 80th anniversary of the famous political, state and public figure in the republic. Ivan Pavlovich Morozov (1924-1987) - a native of the village of Mezhador, Sysolsky district, a participant in the Second World War. After demobilization due to injury, he was engaged in the Komsomol, and then the party work in the Komi Territory. For the last 22 years of his life, Morozov was the first secretary of the Komi Regional Committee of the CPSU, in fact, being the leader of the Komi Republic.

Syktyvkar already has a number of places associated with the name of Morozov. In 1987, Privokzalnaya Street was renamed into Morozova Street. Memorial plaques dedicated to Ivan Pavlovich were installed on the building of the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the railway station. In 2003, the Syktyvkar Medical College also began to bear the name of Morozov (he graduated in 1942).

It is noteworthy that the Syktyvkar House-Museum of I.P. Morozov is almost the only museum of the communist leader in Russia, which was opened during a time of democracy and a multi-party system. The founders of the museum did not set themselves the task of scolding or praising the Soviet system and its ideology. The exposition "The Fate of a Man in the History of the Republic" tells about the economic development of the Komi Territory in the 1950-1980s and the role of individuals in this historical period.

Since 2005, the House-Museum of I.P. Morozov is a department of the National Museum of the Komi Republic. It is located in a quiet picturesque corner - Kirov Park. The exposition of the museum, consisting of 2 sections, housed in 3 rooms of a real peasant hut, built specifically for this purpose. The house of the Morozov family in the village of Mezhador, where little Vanya spent his childhood, was taken as a model.

The first exposition section "Here began his life's road" introduces visitors to the family of Ivan Pavlovich, his childhood and youth. The setting of a peasant hut at the beginning of the 20th century (Russian stove, utensils, furniture, dishes) has been recreated here. A collection of documentary and photographic materials from the archives of the Morozov family is exhibited here. The section is illustrated with ethnographic objects brought by the researchers of the museum from the village of Mezhador.

The second section of the exposition, named "I.P. Morozov - a politician and statesman "is located in the economic half of the house and is a small exhibition hall, where personal belongings, documents and photographs are presented, revealing the stages of the life and work of Ivan Pavlovich Morozov. Shown here is a period of 43 years, when he was in the Komsomol and party work. The same materials reveal Morozov as a person, reflect his inner world, show relationships with relatives, colleagues and friends.

The House-Museum periodically hosts chamber exhibitions telling about people and events of the Soviet era. Nowadays, the exhibition "Red Day of the Calendar (National Holidays of the Country)" is open for visitors.

Among the visitors of the museum there is a very diverse audience. Primary school students and kindergarten students come here to see the structure of the house, wooden utensils, to learn how bread was baked in the old days. In the museum, the children will not only be told, what did children do in the Komi Territory in a distant time, where they slept, what street and home games they played, but they will also play with them. Older children will be interested in a sightseeing tour of the entire museum, as well as acquaintance with new expositions.

For those who are fond of the state symbols of our country and the Komi Republic, and also want to draw up the flag and coat of arms of their family, school, company, the museum offers to get acquainted with the history of heraldry and its main points on an entertaining excursion for different ages "Symbols of the family, city, state ...".
