Photo and Description

The Bikush House was built in 1523 for Braz de Albuquerque, the illegitimate son of King Alfonso, who became Viceroy of India and conqueror of Goa and Malacca. The facade of the building is decorated with relief stones in the form of cut diamonds. The 1755 earthquake collapsed the two upper floors, but in 1980 they were rebuilt using old engravings. Now it houses an exhibition hall.
