In the heart of the Cyclades archipelago, less than 2 km from the island of Paros lies the small picturesque island of Antiparos. Every year this quiet paradise attracts more and more tourists from different countries.

The main settlement of the island of Antiparos is a small town of the same name on the northern coast. It is a typical settlement typical of the Cyclades. Traditional snow-white houses with doors and shutters painted blue, narrow streets and gardens overgrown with bougainvillea and geraniums create a cozy atmosphere and a special flavor. There are many excellent taverns and cafes on the city's waterfront where you can relax and enjoy excellent Greek cuisine.

A modern city, in fact, built around an ancient Venetian fortress. This medieval fortification was erected in the middle of the 15th century and was a somewhat specific, but rather elaborate fortification. Initially, a complex of two-storey buildings, located close to each other, was built, which formed the outer walls of the fortress. In the center there was a small mound (until recently, there was a reservoir here), and the only entrance was in the southern wing. As an additional fortification along the perimeter, massive walls were erected, but, unfortunately, only fragments of them have survived to this day. The main street of the city with many different shops leads from the embankment up to the central square. Here you can still see the partially preserved entrance to the old fortress.
