The Church of Santa Maria del Carmine is famous for its Brancacci Chapel with a series of frescoes `` The Life of the Apostle Peter '', executed in 1424-1480 by the artist Masolino, his student Masaccio and Filippino Lippi. The revolutionary use of linear perspective, drama and tragic realism in the depiction of characters immortalized the name of Masaccio at the forefront of Renaissance painting.
