The Alcazar Park is located on the banks of the Pinos River. This is the most famous recreation area in Larissa. Before being turned into a park, this area was used as a racing field. Since 1887, Alcazar Park has been a real oasis for people living in the city - it combines rich nature and coolness from the river. Horse shows were held in the Alcazar until 1937, after which a zoo was located on the territory until 1990. In addition, traditional September fairs were organized here.
