The circle's repertoire was quite varied; it consisted of jokes, comedies and vaudeville, popular not only in provincial theaters, but also in capitals. Plays such as The Marriage of Balzaminov, Wolves and Sheep, and The Inspector General by Gogol were also staged. The performances brought their zest to the cultural life of the city.
