A unique institution in the city of Kharkov is the cultural and recreational complex Dolphinarium "Nemo", which is located at 3 Sumskaya Street, garden named after T.G. Shevchenko. The dolphinarium was opened on June 1, 2009. The main tasks of the dolphinarium are: active scientific activity, popularization of knowledge about marine mammals, as well as the development of ecological culture.

Dolphinarium "Nemo" in the city of Kharkov is part of the national network of cultural and recreational complexes "Nemo", which branches are in Kiev, Odessa and Donetsk, but at the same time the Kharkiv Dolphinarium remains the largest among them, and among similar complexes in all CIS countries.

Dolphinarium "Nemo" embodied the best aspects of the design solutions of the leading dolphinariums, including the Odessa Dolphinarium, which is one of the five best dolphinariums in Europe, not only in terms of technical solutions and performances, but also in terms of theatricality of the programs played.
