Museum "Honey Farm" description and photos - Russia - North-West: Pskov region. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe people's museum called "Honey Farm" is located in the Pechora region, in the village of Dubrovka, in a picturesque natural place surrounded by dense forests rich in mushrooms and berries. People knew how useful bee honey was back in ancient times. The traditions of beekeeping and the preparation of honey, so supported in the Pskov region, originated a long time ago. At the moment, there are very few truly real apiaries left, because traditions are being lost, and old recipes for dishes and drinks made from honey, as well as mead are gradually forgotten and lose their significance. The owner of the museum is Gennady Glazov, a Russian bee researcher , originally from the city of Pskov, an amazing inventor, author of five RF patents and a person, who published his own books on beekeeping. Gennady Vasilyevich was born in a family of hereditary beekeepers. Has a higher engineering education. Since 1989 he became the chairman of the society of beekeepers in Pskov, and in 1996 he became the head of the office of beekeeping and horticulture in the city of Pskov. In addition, Glazov G.The. is the founder of the Republican School of the National Russian Union of Beekeepers. In 2002 he opened his own museum "Honey Farm". There are a large number of exhibits, numbering up to ten thousand. The museum's Board of Trustees consists of 23 members. In a very short time of its existence, the museum has already been visited by more than three thousand people, most of them represented by schoolchildren. The museum is also visited by celebrities such as A.V. Karpov - world chess champion, bard S. Nikitin, as well as representatives of the business world of Pskov and Moscow. The entire territory of the farm is comfortably equipped to receive numerous visitors. There is a "honey assembly" - a tasting room, common areas, a brazier decorated in a decorative and natural form for guests, an exhibition of interesting objects of the old life of peasants, as well as a collection of "bee houses". For the most curious tourists, special, elite beekeeping courses are carried out, taking place according to the daily program, as well as express courses. The museum has the opportunity to make an order for a special excursion with a more detailed study of the activities of bees. Separately, it is worth mentioning the program concerning the tasting of drinks. It is in the "Honey Khutorka" that you can taste centrifugal and comb honey in combination with aromatic birch sap, soaked lingonberries, herbal teas or fresh cranberries, local bread, bagels, croutons, cheese, natural local wines available in the set and containing at least five varieties (black, red currant, gooseberry, chokeberry, apples, rhubarb, dandelion, wild mountain ash) ... All tasting sets are made according to the wishes of the visitors. In addition, in the museum it will be possible to take a memorable photo and listen to such rarely sounding melodies performed on the psaltery. A variety of sweets are available for small visitors to the museum. In the museum shop, it is possible to purchase beekeeping products, as well as books by Glazov Gennady Vasilyevich. During the excursion, tourists will be able to learn a lot about the difficult business of the beekeeper by taking part in an exciting quiz. The Honey Farm Museum is a great place to relax from the bustle of the city. Here you can plunge into the incredible natural world of bees, taste many delicious, natural drinks, and just enjoy nature and fresh air.
