Photo and description

Mukachevo Honey House is one of the attractions of the Transcarpathian Honey Route. This unique honey museum was opened by the Peresta family of beekeepers in 2010. The museum exposition presents a living beehive with glass walls, all kinds of beekeepers' tools, an original collection of toy bees and a sweet part of the exhibition - honey samples from twenty seven countries of the world. This collection was donated to the museum by Fyodor Shandor, head of the tourism department of Uzhgorod National University. The collection contains honey from Israel, Liechtenstein, India, Czech Republic, Australia. Visiting the "Honey House", you can taste four types of Transcarpathian honey and some honey drinks: mead and honey herbal balm. The family of the organizer of the museum has been engaged in beekeeping for many years.

Along with various types of honey, here you can see many useful products of beekeeping: bee harvested, propolis, royal jelly, bee bread, pollen, bee dead and even tincture, which contains wax moth larvae. The roof of the “Honey House” is decorated with a huge (weight - 40 kg) bee made by an Uzhgorod master.

In the future, the museum organizers are planning to create a special area near the house with a small apiary.
