In 1998, the Museum of National History and Ethnography was merged with the Museum of Fine Arts - this is how the National Museum of Turkmenistan appeared, later renamed the Main Museum, which now includes seven expositions dedicated to history, art, culture and ethnography of Turkmenistan. Here you can see a collection of artifacts from archaeological excavations, a collection of ancient Turkmen carpets, national clothes, household items, weapons, works of art, etc. The area of the museum complex is about 15 thousand square meters.
