The Aine Art Museum was opened in 1986. with the support of the Art Foundation and the City of Tornio. The collection is based on works of Finnish art from the early 19th century. to the present moment, which have been collected by the Aine spouses over several decades.

Among more than 2300 exhibits, the works of authors from Northern Finland are especially well represented. The collection is partially based on the work of the artist Liis Rautiainen, who was born in 1919. in Kem. She donated 217 of her works to the Aine Museum.

Among other things, the museum holds annual temporary exhibitions of fine and industrial art, as well as photo exhibitions.
