Church in Tornio is an old, well-preserved wooden church. It was built in 1886. and is considered one of the most beautiful in Finland. The architect Matti Herme dedicated its construction to Queen Eleanor.

The high roof of the church is covered with tiles. The bell tower is surrounded by five towers. In the XVIII century. French scientist de Maupertuis made measurements in Finnish Lapland to determine the shape of our planet, taking the church bell tower as a basis, and using the church spire as one of the reference points.

Visitors are attracted by the interior with a painted ceiling, carved wooden pulpits and chandeliers made of brass.

To the north of the Tornio Church is a water tower with an observation deck and a cafe. The church is open to the public during the summer.
