The Art Museum of South Karelia is a museum in the Finnish city of Lappeenranta, located in the former artillery barracks of 1798.
The neoclassical round-vaulted building displays numerous and varied works by renowned Finnish masters, painters and other artists, from the mid-19th century to the present day. A separate place is occupied by an exposition highlighting the art of the southeastern part of the country, which developed and quickly became popular in the 60s of the XX century. Museum exhibitions are updated every season. Among other things, works by young artists are exhibited here. Also in the Art Museum of South Karelia there is an extensive collection of folk art exhibits created in the period from the 18th century to the present day.
