Photo and descriptionFF Meltzer's house is located in the Crimean resort town of Yalta at the corner of two streets - Sverdlov and Basseinaya. The mansion is named in honor of one of the largest furniture manufacturers in Russia - Fyodor Fedorovich Meltzer, the son of a St. Petersburg merchant and a Prussian citizen FI Meltzer, who founded the furniture workshop “Meltzer F & Co” in about 1867. By the end of the 19th century. it became one of the largest factories in Russia, it was here that the furniture for the Livadia Palace was made. Fyodor Melzer received permission to build a two-story residential building in June 1914, at the same time construction work began. The construction of the mansion was carried out under the supervision of the civil engineer I. M. Kefeli. The modest building was made in the style of the Renaissance. In 1918-1919. the ownership of the famous owner of the furniture factory F. Meltzer in Yalta was nationalized, and since then it has been used as buildings for military sanatoriums. In 1941 - 1944. the house housed the Gestapo. The facades of the building, built in the early 20th century, are made in the Art Nouveau style with a harmonious combination of elements in the Rococo style. A stone two-storey building with a basement, asymmetrical and complex in plan. The area in front of the house is lined with monolithic colored mosaic concrete with a geometric pattern. There are rest areas in front of the main entrance. The decoration of the exteriors is typical for the southern coast of Crimea in the late 19th - early 20th century. FF Meltzer's House is an architectural monument, which is quite well preserved in its original form, even the wooden blinds on the windows have survived.
