The Museum of Railway Engineering on the Moscow Railway was reopened in August 2011. The museum exposition is located at the Paveletsky railway station. It is located in the pavilion of the Lenin Funeral Train Museum, which has long been defunct. In the center of the exhibition hall there is a steam locomotive with a carriage, which in January 1924 brought the body of the leader from Gorki to Moscow. This is a tribute to the memory and a sign of respect for history.

The exposition of the museum covers an area of about 1500 sq. M. The exposition is arranged in chronological order. It reflects the role of the Moscow Railway in the history of the development of Russian railways and all stages of the development of railway transport. The first exhibits date back to the middle of the 19th century. The latter are examples of modern technology. A tour of the museum is a fascinating journey into the past and into the future.

The museum carefully keeps documents and unique drawings of the road construction, various tools used on the railway. Here is a collection of personal belongings of transport leaders and heroes of the railway. The exposition tells about the restoration of the railway line after the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War.

The museum contains historically significant issues of the railway workers newspaper "Gudok". One of the newspapers on display, dated May 9, 1945. It contains the Act of Germany's surrender.

The exhibition displays a steam locomotive of the early twentieth century and the most modern Sapsan. The museum has a large collection of awards from railroad workers of different eras.

In the design of the exhibition, the most modern methods of exposure were used. These are installations, working models. In the museum you can see the models of high-speed train lines - "Sapsana" and "Aeroexpress". There is an installation of a carriage from the Nikolaev era and a carriage of the "green" electric train from the sixties. Frames of archival chronicles run through the windows. This really revives the exposition, makes it possible to feel the spirit of the times and to feel like a traveler.

A beautiful park with flowers and trees is laid out in front of the museum pavilion.
