The royal two-story fort was built in 1820 and was the seat of the family that ruled in Sharjah. Over time, the buildings were destroyed, but in 1996 restoration work was carried out. The fort museum tells about the history of the development of the emirate and various historical events. It displays a collection of traditional weapons: shotguns, powder tanks and tortoiseshell swords.
