Photo and description

Boiling Lake is the second largest lake in the world and one of the wonders of nature. The water temperature reaches 92 degrees, but during rainy periods it can drop to 10. Swimming in this lake is strictly prohibited, because jets of hot air and even lava can beat under water. Locals do not recommend going to the lake alone, without a guide. The lake is surrounded by mountains on all sides, except for one place where the water pours out and enters the rivers. The ascent to the Boiling Lake takes a whole day (from 4 to 8 hours, depending on your strength), so you need to start it early in the morning to have time to return before dark. From the village of Lauda you can drive to the Ti-Tu-Gosh cave, from which the hiking begins. You will cross several valleys, walk the ridge of Mount Morne Nichols, through a wild forest, past many sulfur streams. In the Valley of Destruction, you will see columns of hot air that rise from the ground. Not far from the Boiling Lake, a mountain sulfur river flows, which forms many natural pools. Here you can swim and regain your strength. Those who have been here claim that this difficult path is worth looking at the amazing miracle of nature!
