Photo and description

You can get to this waterfall from the small village of Laudat, which is located in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, and from Cochrane. And from Laudat you can get there by car. This small village spreads on the slopes of the 3 mountains Morne Mycotrin (Morne Macaque), Morne Trois Piton and Morne Watt. Only about 300 inhabitants live here. It is also called the "gate", because it is the only settlement on the way to the main attractions of the island - Freshwater Lake, Tee Tu Gorge and Boiling Lake. Laudat is located at an altitude of 400 m above sea level, so it is cooler here. It can be reached by car from the capital of Dominica Roseau, the journey will take about 20 minutes. It offers a unique view of the Caribbean coast.

The path to the waterfall will take you about an hour's walk through the dense rainforest. At the beginning of the path, the path climbs up, then it goes more gently, and leads you through the forest thickets. On the way to the waterfall, you have to overcome several peaks if you want to not only see it, but also swim in the lake. Middleham is 122 meters high and is one of the tallest waterfalls in Dominica. The road to it passes through the old coffee plantations and Tu Santi (translated as "stinking hole"). It is a collapsed old lava tube that emits warm gases with a very unpleasant odor. There are many bats living in the crevices of Tu Santi.

When you reach the waterfall, you will see an amazingly beautiful picture. The waters of Middleham fall from great heights over the cliffs of the Laudat Mountain Range. Here you can swim in cool clear water.
