This is a small lake that does not dry up even in the hot summer season, as it is fed from underground water springs. The pond was immortalized by the famous writer N. V. Gogol as "Mirgorodskaya puddle" in the story "How Ivan Ivanovich Quarreled with Ivan Nikiforovich." Mirgorodskaya puddle that adorned the city in the 19th century. and earlier, still alive. Unfortunately, only a tenth of it remained, which, thanks to N.V. Gogol, is today a local landmark.
