Tippu Summer Palace is located on the territory of the fort of the city of Bangalore. The construction began in 1781 by the ruler Haider Ali Khan, and was completely completed in 1791 during the reign of Tippu Sultan, who turned this palace into his summer residence and proudly called it "The Envy of Heaven".

Palace is mainly a wooden structure, made in a typical Islamic style. It is a small two-storey building with a flat roof, surrounded on all sides by magnificent, carefully tended gardens. The most distinctive features of the palace are its richly decorated balconies, carved columns and arches painted in brown and pale yellow. Some of the interior walls of the building are red, and some, like the ceilings, completely painted with graceful floral designs, which are not very well preserved, but still clearly distinguishable in some places. The palace is famous for its original interior, which cannot but fascinate.

The first floor of the palace has now been converted into a museum dedicated to Tippu Sultan. Here you can see not only documents that testify to the successful rule of Tippu, and a plaque that lists the reforms he introduced, but also a collection of paintings depicting the palace from different times throughout the 1800s. The museum also houses a copy of the famous Tiger Tippu toy, the original of which is kept in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In addition, there you can admire a canvas depicting a golden throne decorated with emeralds, on which the ruler vowed not to sit down until he finally defeated the British army. But in 1799, during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, Tippu was killed, his possessions were seized, and the throne was cut into pieces and sold at auction, since, due to its enormous value, one person could not acquire it. ... After the establishment of British rule, the British administration settled in the palace.

At the moment, Tippu Palace is one of the most visited places in Bangalore. It is located right in the center of the Old Town and is easy to reach.
