Photo and description

The tea factory in Matsesta is an enterprise with a very long and interesting history. It begins in 1947, when the Verkhne-Matsesta Soviet tea farm was founded on the territory of the previously existing collective farm "Banner of Soviets".

The first tea plantations were laid in 1951-1953. At first, the bookmarks were made by the Chinese variety "Kimyn", and then by the Georgian variety "Kolkhida" and the variety "Matsestinsky yielding", which is able to withstand frosts down to -16 ° C.

In 1992 Matsestinskoye Soviet tea farm named after .AND. Lenin was reorganized into the Matsestinsky tea joint-stock company. To our great regret, during the period of restructuring of the crisis, the enterprise fell into decay. And only in 2006, the stagnant economy began to slowly revive.

Today the area of Matsesta plantations is about 180 hectares. To collect tea leaves, the company uses the latest equipment: tea harvesting machines, cutting machines, cultivators and much more. A workshop for the production of black and green tea, an office building and a new road were also built. The company is engaged in the production of only environmentally friendly tea.

During an excursion to a tea factory, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the peculiarities of growing and collecting local tea, see the process of its production, and also take part in tea drinking. The excursion begins with a visit to a tea plantation, where you can hear a lot of interesting things about the history of growing and production of tea, admire the unique beauty of the Matsesta mountain valley.

During the excursion, guests will be able to visit the tasting room of the Matsesta tea enterprise, watch a short film about the tea factory, and take part in the tasting of Matsesta black and green tea with honey. After an exciting excursion, everyone can buy tea of various sorts, honey and paintings with a beautiful panorama of Matsesta tea plantations in a local store.
