Photo and description

Ribat is a fortress-monastery that serves to protect the coast from Christian attacks. The ribat was finally completed in 821 during the reign of the Aghlabids.

Along the perimeter of the courtyard, paved with light stone, there are cell galleries and a watchtower - Nador. If you climb the 73 steps to the top of the tower, you will get a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings.
