Here you can find award-winning wineries, dine in gourmet restaurants, listen to fascinating stories, admire local art and participate in a variety of activities - all set against a stunning backdrop. The best way to experience the soul of the Swan Valley is to head on the 32 km Wine Route to visit the excellent wineries, breweries, restaurants, cafes and markets with stalls of fresh vegetables and fruits. Aborigines from the nyoongar tribe, who appeared here at least 40 thousand years ago, are considered the indigenous inhabitants of the valley. They believe that one day, during the creation of the world, the mythical snake Vagul crawled here and left behind a trail - a valley along which the Swan River flowed. Today, Swan Valley is considered the oldest wine region in Western Australia. There are vineyards producing some of the best wines in the world, such as Verdelo and Shiraz. No less famous are the breweries, whose products can be tasted immediately after preparation. In the town of Guildford, there are beautifully restored buildings of historical and cultural value, thanks to which you can look back in time and learn how the first European settlers lived there.
