Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art is one of the best museums in Ukraine. It is located on the street. Pushkinskaya, 9.

A museum of this profile was created in the Abaza palace in 1923. Its exposition consisted of private collections that were collected by the local Committee for the Protection of Antiquities and Art. Also, exhibits from the city museum and central state museums came here. Now the museum contains wonderful works of foreign masters, among which there are many rare exhibits.

The building occupied by the museum is an architectural monument. This palace was built in 1856-1858. designed by the outstanding architect L. Otton. The architecture of the palace is designed in the spirit of eclecticism: the baroque style coexists with elements of the Empire and Rococo styles. The interior of the building is distinguished by rich stucco decoration, unique carvings and bronze fittings. The most interesting part of the building is the lobby with the main staircase.

The two-story building of the museum has twenty-three halls, which house exhibitions of ancient, Eastern and Western European art. On the ground floor of the museum there is an antique section, which symbolizes the role of the ancient heritage of European artistic culture. Nearby, occupying only three halls, is the department of the art of the peoples of the East. On the second floor of the palace, collections of European art objects are presented, which include: painting, sculpture and arts and crafts. It is here that visitors can see the works of famous masters: "Saint Luke", "Saint Matthew" by Frans Hals, "Madonna Enthroned" by Francesco Granacci and from "The Threatening Cupid" by E.
