The famous city of Liepaja is considered the musical capital of Latvia, and rock music is especially appreciated here. And therefore, one of the most popular attractions of this glorious town is the Musical Walk of Fame, where you can compare your own palm with the palm of a celebrity, and, of course, take a photo in this wonderful place.

The Musical Walk of Fame was born in Liepaja 12 May 2006. It was decided in the city to embody the merits of famous and worthy Latvian musicians in history. It is very pleasant that gifted people and their work are appreciated during their lifetime.

The Liepaja Musical Walk of Fame is a chain of half-meter cubes with the artist's name and palm print made of bronze, located on the upper edge of the slab.

At the opening of the alley, as is customary in this case, a ribbon was cut in a solemn atmosphere, which was stretched between 2 snow-white guitars. This honor went to the musician Igo. Further, according to the director's idea, through the improvised gates made of stringed instruments, the artists who received such high recognition were passing to the stage to get a mini-print of their own palm made of bronze. Many musicians praised Liepaja, called it the musical capital and a wonderful city, where not only the wind is born, but also talented artists. Later they left their autographs on the guitars.

At the opening of the Walk of Fame, the biggest guitar in Latvia started playing! Or rather, the light from the searchlights, directed at its metal body, began to play. This amazing guitar was created by designer Reinis Kutsitis. It is placed at the very beginning of the Walk of Fame as a symbol of music and talent of artists.

Interestingly, in Hollywood, commemorative plaques of famous actors are located right on the pavement underfoot, and in Liepaja, not far from the first Latvian rock cafe on Zivue Street, the slabs can be seen staggered in the form of 50 cubes, on top of which the palms of celebrities are fixed. These are Raimonds Pauls, Laima Vaikule, Margarita Viltsane, Ainar Mielavs, Maria Naumova, Arnis Mednis, Ieva Akuratere, Pete Anderson and many others. The collection of stars is planned to be replenished every spring.

Of course, I would like to say that the names of musicians who are no longer among us are marked on the Alley of Musical Glory in Liepaja. Stars are depicted on their memorial plates.
