The Zagreb Zoo is located in the capital of Croatia and is one of the three zoos in the country. Zagreb Zoo is located in the Maksimir Park. The zoo covers an area of 5.5 hectares, and if you count with ponds and lakes, then 7 hectares. In total, the zoo of the Croatian capital contains 275 species of animals, represented by 2225 individuals.

The following rare and interesting species are represented in the Zagreb Zoo: snow leopard, red panda, okapi, addax antelope, oryx, chimpanzee, Diana monkey, bison, pygmy hippopotamus, bactrian camel, etc.

Zagreb Zoo was opened on June 17, 1925. Its founder was Mijo Filipovic, a former Croatian water engineer with a passion for philately. The zoo has been reconstructed since 1990.

Zagreb Zoo is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the European Program for the Conservation of Endangered Animals.

The Zoo in Zagreb is very popular among tourists and ranks first among the city's attractions in terms of attendance.
