The Cathedral of Saint Peter in Guayaquil was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1924-1937. The first Cathedral of Guayaquil was located on the hill of St. Anne, but burned down in a fire in 1692, then it was restored in a tree and only at the beginning of the 20th century it became a stone temple.
