Photo and description

Malecon 2000 is a landscaped promenade along the Guayas River in Guayaquil. This place became the center of public life of the townspeople back in the 19th century. In the middle of the 20th, the embankment of Simon Bolivar turned into a dangerous place - drugs and weapons were sold here, thieves and robbers lived. At the end of the 20th century, the authorities decided to improve the embankment and turned it into a wonderful promenade with museums, fountains, shopping centers, parks and monuments, restaurants and cafes.
