Mount Belalakaya is one of the main attractions and a visiting card of the resort village of Dombay, towering over the entire Dombai meadow. Belalakaya is the top of the western peak of the main ridge of the Greater Caucasus, which stretches upward for 3861 m. To the east of the main peak, you can see the top of Malaya Belalakia, whose height is 3740 m.

The mountain "charm" Belalakia can be seen from almost anywhere Dombai surroundings. On the north side, it is very similar to the Matternhorn. Of particular interest is the western wall of the summit, up to 700 m long, and the strikingly beautiful thousand-meter north-eastern wall.

Over many millions of years, surface weathering processes have destroyed huge strata of rocks, revealing for the eyes of people a section of the earth's crust, now located at an altitude of over 3 km.

Thanks to several layers of white quartz, up to 50 m thick, which are very The rocky walls of the peak are unusually and beautifully cut through; this mountain peak is often called the "Striped Rock".
