Alibek waterfall is one of the largest and most spectacular Dombai waterfalls (Karachay-Cherkess Republic, North Caucasus). Located on the territory of the Teberda nature reserve.

Its height, from which the raging mass of water falls, is more than 25 m. The Alibek waterfall is formed by the fall of the Dzhalovchatka river from the Alibek glacier. The mighty stones, from which the water falls with a roar, are called "sheep's foreheads". Alibek waterfall is a powerful white-foam stream that sparkles with many splashes, which is a magnificent and extraordinary sight. In the gorge there is an incredible roar of a gusty stream breaking down.

Alibek waterfall appeared in the XX century. Back in the 1930s. it was not yet there, and the rock ledge covered the tongue of the Alibek glacier, retreating every year up by a meter, or even one and a half.

This waterfall is one of the most popular hiking destinations. The excursion to the waterfall will not take much time and effort, this route is great for the whole family. The first part of the path (to the alpine camp) can be reached by car, although the site is very picturesque, passes through a beautiful fir forest, so it is better to walk it. The excursion can be continued by entering the Alibek glacier.

The power, strength and beauty of the Alibek waterfall will conquer any tourist and traveler. When the water level is not very high, the river can be crossed over stones. But it is very dangerous to do it without a guide, because there is no road on the other side, and the path passes between steep rocks. And then along the moraine.
