Photo and descriptionMaiden's Tears Waterfall Is a unique waterfall in Yaremche. It flows not far from another attraction of Western Ukraine - Dzhurinsky waterfall (only one and a half kilometers). If we talk about "Maiden's Tears", then one cannot but recall the amazing legend associated with this place, as well as the magical cave in which the hermit monk lived. So, according to local legends, the waterfall was formed from the bitter tears of a young girl who lost her beloved. And according to other legends, this wicked witch bewitched the girl, and her tears will not dry up until a brave young guy dares to fight the witch. But whatever the legends are, the locals still consider this place holy, and believe in that the water from the waterfall helps to make wishes come true. The waterfall is located on the left bank of the Strip. It is noteworthy that you can see the waterfall only after climbing the mountain on foot, to the place where the Dzhurinsky waterfall originates. The water, which has been grinding travertine rocks for many centuries, has formed bizarre grottoes and caves with huge columns of stalactites and stalagmites. Having visited here for the first time, everyone strives to return again and again to this picturesque corner of nature. An amazingly beautiful place where clear water combines with bizarre strands of green algae, resembling rather streams of girls' tears, simply captivates with its pristine beauty. "Maiden's Tears" is not a seething stream of water, but rather thousands of thin thin crystal clear streams that have been descending from the mountains for centuries, bringing coolness with them and giving life to everything around. Touch this miracle, and who knows, maybe you will be able to see the silhouette of an evil witch reflected in the water or the beautiful appearance of a girl who has been shedding her tears for more than one hundred years.
