The art gallery of Gabriel Kharitonovich Vaschenko was opened on February 5, 2002. Gavriil Kharitonevich Vaschenko is an outstanding Belarusian artist, repeatedly awarded with awards, both in his homeland and other countries of the world. So, the American Biographical Institute named him as `` Man of the Year 1994 '' and awarded the personal medal `` Honor 2000 ''.

The beginning of the art gallery was laid by the generous gift of Gabriel Kharitonovich, which consisted of 50 paintings by the artist. The artist's wife Matilda Vaschenko also made a significant contribution to the creation of an art gallery in her hometown, who donated her own collection of paintings by contemporary Belarusian artists, numbering 70 masterpieces - the best canvases of friends and students of Gavriil Kharitonovich.

Now the gallery has over 400 works in its collection. The collection is constantly replenished with new works by promising contemporary Belarusian artists who consider it a great honor to exhibit their works in the gallery of G.Kh. Vaschenko.

The gallery is located in two buildings: on the street. Karpovich, 4 - its area is 895 square meters. The second building at 43 Lenin Avenue, with an area of 391 square meters, has recently been restored. Now the gallery includes: exhibition space, an art salon and an artist goods store. This modern approach was borrowed from European museums.

The gallery hosts more than 30 exhibitions of artists annually. In addition to exhibition activities, the gallery takes an active part in organizing exhibitions of children and youth creativity and identifying young talents.
