Photo and descriptionThe main architectural complex of the city is located at the intersection of the main street and the shopping area - the Assumption and Entry-Jerusalem Cathedrals with a bell tower. The ensemble of cathedrals was erected in 1733 and rebuilt in 1806 by the provincial architect N.I. Metlin. The Entry-Jerusalem Cathedral (winter) was built in 1733, its architecture goes back to simple and majestic forms the ancient posad temple. The Assumption (summer) cathedral was built by the architect P.I. Fursov in 1825-1833 in the style of late Russian classicism. The Church of the Nativity of Christ was built in 1815 by captive French in honor of the victory over Napoleon in the Patriotic War of 1812. This is the only Baroque monument in Yuryevets. The bell tower of the Entry-Jerusalem Cathedral (with the Church of St. George the Great Martyr in the lower tier) was also built in 1840 according to the project of the architect P.I.
