Photo and description

The house-museum of the composer Steinov was founded in his historical homeland - in the city of Kazanlak. The building itself was nationalized, it was also given the status of a cultural monument of national importance. The composer's heirs were engaged in the restoration of the house-museum, and already in January 1999 the building could be used according to the declared purpose.

In the person of Petko Stainov, two types of activities were inextricably linked: at the same time he is a major composer and a serious scholar-folklorist, studying the original Bulgarian folk art.

Today the Petko Stainov House-Museum is a full-fledged cultural center, which includes not only a permanent exhibition organized by the Iskra Historical Museum, but also a music salon and an archive of documents in electronic form.

The museum's exposition is presented in two rooms of the house. The first and second rooms tell about the life of the composer, as well as his famous choral and symphonic works, the fruits of his social and musical activities. Here you can also trace Steinov's close connection with his homeland, since the composer enjoyed national recognition throughout his creative career. Also in these rooms are the originals and copies of documents, photographs, as well as clippings from articles of the Bulgarian and foreign press about the works of Stainov.

The eastern room of the house-museum is made in the form of a music hall. There is a piano and a hall for 30 seats (taking into account the open door, its capacity increases to 35-40 people). It hosts performances, chamber concerts, literary readings and other small cultural events. In addition, the hall is rented out to musicians of Kazanlak music schools for rehearsals for free.
