Photo and description

Pendjari National Park covers an area of 275 thousand hectares, located 45 km north of Natitingu. An unspoiled, remote wilderness represents the fauna of West Africa. Visitors can observe lions, leopards, elephants, baboons and hippos. The optimal time for organizing a car ride is towards the end of the drought season (from November to February), when animals begin to migrate between water sources.

Bounded by the waters of the Pendjari River, the national park of the same name is home to large groups of animals such as buffaloes, elephants, various species of antelope and West African lions. The park is also famous for its variety of avifauna. The reserve is part of a complex of vast protected areas in Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger. The Atakora hills and cliffs in the northwest direction form one of the most picturesque areas of Benin and a wonderful panorama of the park. Waterfalls, wooded landscapes and good roads will make the trip a pleasure.

To organize a safari tour, you can contact Mason Pendjari (tourist center).
