The Odeon of Herodes Atticus was built in 165 AD. Herodes Atticus in honor of his deceased wife Regilla.

The odeon, designed for 5 thousand seats, was built in the classical form of an ancient theater. Today, here you can see almost all the ancient buildings that have survived to our time. Unfortunately, the statues that were previously located in the theater niches have not survived.

In the 1950s, the marble facing of the stage and auditoriums was restored. Since then, it is here that the famous Athens festival has been held annually.

You can go inside the theater only during performances or concerts.
