Tourism

Samui is a popular resort in Thailand. Exotic nature, peace and tranquility of the island, as well as the opportunity to retire, attract couples in love here from all over the world.

For tourists on the island there are comfortable beaches, the best of which are located on the east coast. Fine sand, picturesque coves, crystal sea water make Chaweng Beach the most beautiful on the island. Five-star hotels and bamboo bungalows are located along its coast. During the day, the beach acts as a center for water sports, and at night it turns into a dance floor.

South of Chaweng is Lamai Beach. The sand here is not so fine, sometimes even rocky. Lamai is popular with surfers. There is also a SPA center, where everyone can take a course of Thai massage and take a mud bath.

The northern part of the Samui coast is occupied by three cozy bays. In the west stretches Bophut - a beach on which both tourists and locals live at the same time. A little further is Maenam, whose hotels are adjacent to the hippie colony.

Laem Beach is famous for its tall palm trees and bizarre boulders. The sea is shallow here. The southeast of the island is occupied by Hat Taling Ngam Beach, which with its long sandbanks attracts hikers.

Almost every beach on the island offers tourists such entertainment as: diving, parachuting, windsurfing. Here you can try yourself as a diver or hand-feed tame sharks and other exotic fish.

All buildings on the island are no higher than two or three storeys. This is due to the fact that buildings higher than coconut trees are prohibited on Koh Samui. Nightlife lovers should visit the resorts of Chaweng and Lamai. The famous shops, restaurants and nightlife of the island are located along the beach.

Be sure to visit Hin Ta and Hin Yan mountains ("grandfather and grandmother"), located on the south side of Lamai Beach. Natural Namtok and Mueang Waterfalls are up to 20 meters high. There is a natural pool not far from them. Here you will also find tracks from which it is convenient to observe elephants.

Take a look at Koh Phangan, Ko-Tao ("turtle island"), a crocodile or snake farm, take a walk in the park butterflies and watch a transvestite show.
