Built by the order of Sultan Abdul-Aziz in 1861, the palace is made in the original neo-baroque style for those times. The interior of the palace is notable for its luxury and splendor. Here you can see huge hand-made carpets, graceful crystal chandeliers, many fine porcelain products brought from Japan and France. The palace offers a picturesque panoramic view of the Bosphorus, and in the gardens laid out next to the Beylerbey Palace, you can see a variety of flora, including rare and valuable tree species.
