Solden is one of the most visited ski resorts in Austria. On its territory, competitions among professional skiers have repeatedly been held.
The winter tourist season starts in December and ends at the end of April.

The total length of trails   Solden is 140 kilometers long, including 53 kilometers of pistes for beginners, 63 kilometers of higher difficulty level and 28 kilometers of pistes suitable for experienced skiers as well as for extreme skiing.

Note , that the slopes of medium and low difficulty category are located in the skiing area of Gigiyoch, and more difficult slopes begin on the slopes of the Gaislachkogl mountain, which is 3   058 meters above sea level.

The Solden ski slopes range from 1350 to 3250 meters. Vacationers can get to the Rettenbach glacier using the Golden Gate to the Glacier lift. directly from the center of Solden.

A descent of about 13 kilometers begins on the glacier, with an altitude difference of 1880 meters. The resort has snow-making equipment that allows you to form   if necessary, snow cover on the tracks up to 2200 meters above sea level.

In addition, on the territory of Solden, a special Park Gigiyoch   and a halfpipe are offered to snowboard lovers. The resort also has moguls and pursuit tracks, toboggan run. In summer, descents from the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers are available.

Solden also offers its guests a cross-country ski trail of 16 kilometers   and 4- a kilometer trail for skiing in the dark.

Solden has 34 lifts, 19 of which are chairlifts and 7 funiculars. The total throughput of all types of lifts is over 65   000 people per hour.

The largest ski areas in Solden: Gaislachkogl (1377-3058 m), Giggijoch (1377-2885 m) and two glaciers - Rettenbach ( 1377-3250 m) and Tiefenbach (2796-3250 m).

The resort uniqueness of Solden lies in the fact that it is the only ski resort in Austria that has the ability to climb 3 mountain peaks (`` Big 3 '' - ``; Big Three & raquo;), each of which exceeds 3   000 meters, and this feature is available directly from the city center.
