The Yedikule Fortress (Seven Towers Castle) was built by order of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1458 and for a long time was an important defensive structure of the city. Later, it served as a prison.

The treasury was also located here for a long time. Nowadays, it is a museum, which is eagerly visited by guests of Istanbul. You can get to it by electric train from the station Sirkeci.

The museum is located three hundred meters from the stop `` Yedikule ''. In the courtyard of the Yedikule fortress, you can see the cannonballs that were used during the war for firing cannons. In addition, in the courtyard   quite often, various concert performances and festive events are held.
