It was built in the period from 368 to 375 in the now historical part of Istanbul on Ataturk Boulevard. Initially, its length exceeded 1000 meters, and its height reached 26 meters. Today that part of the aqueduct that has survived has a maximum height of 20 meters, and its length is 971 meters. The aqueduct functioned until the middle of the 19th century.
