Shmyreva was opened on July 5, 1969 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The museum exposition tells about the life and work of the legendary partisan commander Batka Minay (Minnaya Filippovich Shmyrev). Here are collected exhibits that demonstrate how the first partisan detachments were organized at the beginning of the war, how the partisans flocked under the banners of the brave Old Man Minai, how the 1st Belarusian Partisan Brigade, the 1st Vitebsk and the name of the Red Banner Lenin Komsomol were created, about how the People's The Avengers. Separate expositions of the museum tell about the youth and pre-war life of the famous hero, as well as about his post-war glory. Literature presented, which describes his exploits. The museum is located in four halls on a total area of 216 square meters in a historic building, which before the Revolution was occupied by a shelter for elderly officials. The museum fund has over 7 thousand exhibits. The museum owns an interesting collection of models of military equipment from the Great Patriotic War. The exposition located in the courtyard of the museum is no less interesting. Here a partisan camp of the times of the Great Patriotic War has been recreated: dugouts, carts, weapons. The Museum holds not only interesting exhibitions, lectures, excursions for adults and schoolchildren, but also military-patriotic reconstructions, where everyone can see with their own eyes how partisan actions of the times under the leadership of the famous commander Batka Minay took place.
