Canterbury Castle was built in the 11th century by the Norman conquerors. Today, in its place behind the City Wall is Dyne Jones, a park with fountains and alleys, galleries and a Victorian stage, a labyrinth stylized as an ancient castle. This park has become a permanent venue for seasonal celebrations, various events, concerts, fairs, in particular the Gourmet Fair and the Christmas Fair.
