Rating: 7,9/10 (444 votes)  Harrach Castle, located in Rorau, near Vienna, is a pearl of Austrian architecture. Nowadays, the castle houses a valuable art gallery, which is one of the most luxurious private collections. The Harrach family was one of the noble families of the Habsburg Empire, whose representatives were famous princes and diplomats. In 1524 the Harrach family acquired the castle and turned it into one of the most beautiful castles in Austria. All members of the family were connoisseurs of painting, thanks to which the collection was replenished with new works of art with each successive generation. Today these paintings can be seen in the castle, the decoration of which is also decorated with magnificent furniture and objects of artistic handicrafts. The gallery contains such famous works as Three Ladies Playing Music, Holy Night, View of Naples. other. Also of interest are the huge frescoes depicting the famous Austrian battles. Also noteworthy is the bust of Haydn by Antonio Grassi, which can be seen in one of the halls of the castle.
