The most beautiful house of the 18th century gives an idea of his life. The interior of the house, details of everyday life are preserved and look the same as during the life of the poet. Some of Goethe's manuscripts are kept here. However, Goethe spent most of his life in Weimar, but the inhabitants of Frankfurt am Main are very proud to live in the place where the genius poet was born. During the Second World War, the house was destroyed, but later restored, carefully reproducing every detail. The table at which Goethe wrote has also survived. In the house next door is the Goethe Museum, which houses a collection of the poet's personal belongings, his manuscripts.
