Nature Reserve 'Fiuminisi and Monte Scuderi' is the kingdom of the Sicilian stone partridge (a medium-sized bird of the pheasant family). The park was declared a protected area in 1998. The total area of the park is 3   543 hectares.

A characteristic feature of the park is – rapid streams, which are real geological laboratories, in which rocks of various origins can acquaint with the history of the origin of the earth and the structure of the Peloritan Mountains. In hot months, these streams often dry up.

There are also several valleys in the reserve, among which Eremiti is especially popular, at one time visited by believers who lived in grottoes. Not far from it is the Church of the Holy Trinity.

The main mountain of the reserve is Monte Scuderi, which reaches a height of 1   256 meters. Initially, the mountain was called Monte Sparviero (itl."Hawk"), as on its top there were lateral protrusions resembling hawk wings.

Due to the incredible variety of resources, the territory of the reserve belongs to `` the chosen ones. '' In ancient times, between the powerful families of Taormina and Messina, a dispute arose more than once over the ownership of these lands, and influential monastic orders also claimed the rights to the reserve.

According to legend, under the top of Mount Monte Scuderi there is an underground lake, on the banks of which the treasures of the robbers are hidden. In 1612, a special group was sent there, most of which died as a result of the collapse of an underwater grotto.
