The palace project was proposed as a mansion by one of the legalized daughters of King Louis XIV. Construction was carried out from 1722 to 1728. Later, the palace was redeemed by the crown and inherited by the Dukes of Bourbon through the male line, hence the name of the palace. The palace was finally nationalized after the Bourbon Restoration, closer to the middle of the 19th century. The palace became the building of the French Parliament. The building has been modernized several times, the last one is – during the Great Revolution. A pediment was built in front of the entrance to the palace, resting on a colonnade.
