Domplatz square in Austria, Salzburg resort

Domplatz is located on the west side of the Salzburg Cathedral. In the south, the square is bordered by the Abbey of St. Peter. Almost the entire perimeter of the square is framed by arches that are connected to each other. In the center of the square there is a column with the figure of the Virgin Mary (Marienzeule) dating from the end of the 18th century. Domplatz square is not only a landmark of the city, but also a place where various popular events are held. For example, the Salzburg Festival is held here every year, an integral part of which is the staging of the play"Everyone" by Hugo von Hofmannstahl.
